test prep

when a big exam is coming up, I've found a few things that really work for me. Practice tests are probably the most helpful because they're like a dress rehearsal for the real thing. You get used to the timing and the way the questions are asked, which makes me way less stressed on test day. today we started prepping for the eoc we started by reading a speech and answering questions

informational essay

For me, the most challenging aspect of writing an informational essay is definitely organizing my ideas. Once I've got a topic and some evidence, I often feel like I have a jumble of information floating around in my head. Figuring out the most logical and effective way to structure that information into a coherent essay, with a clear flow from one point to the next, is where I tend to get stuck. To overcome this, I think I need to be more disciplined about outlining before I start writing. Actually mapping out the main points and sub-points, and thinking about how each paragraph will connect, could really help bring order to the chaos and make the writing process much smoother today we went on writeable to complete assignments  the assignment was kind of long

NDEs

It's wild to think about near-death experiences (NDEs) and whether they offer a peek into what happens after we kick the bucket. I've always been curious about those stories of people seeing a bright light or feeling like they're floating above their body when they almost die. It really makes me wonder if there's more to it than just our brains playing tricks on us in a stressful situation. today we talked about ndes  I learned that when ndes happen you can put of body expiriences

Discuss how mastering precise vocabulary can impact your daily communication and academic success.

Developing a mastery of precise vocabulary can significantly enhance one's daily communicative abilities. Instead of relying on vague terms, utilizing specific and nuanced language allows for a more accurate and impactful conveyance of thoughts and feelings, thereby minimizing ambiguity in interpersonal interactions. This refined expression fosters clearer understanding and more engaging dialogue with others. today we a vocab activity  the activity was similar to what we did last week.

suburban life

When I become an adult, I think I would prefer suburban life over city life. While city living offers excitement and convenience, I value the quieter, more spacious environment that suburbs provide. Suburban areas tend to have more affordable housing options, which is important to me as I consider long-term financial stability. I also appreciate the sense of community that suburbs often foster, with family-friendly neighborhoods and safer, less crowded spaces. Additionally, living in the suburbs gives me easier access to outdoor activities, parks, and nature, which is something I prioritize for maintaining a healthy work-life balance. While the city has its perks, the tranquility, space, and affordability of suburban life seem like a better fit for me in the long run. Today we read an article about the environments that the suburbs and metropolitan have. This taught me the pros and cons of both and helps me chose for the future

student loans

Based on the information I’ve learned about student loan debt, I plan to personally avoid accumulating excessive debt by being proactive in my approach to education. First, I will prioritize applying for scholarships and grants, which do not require repayment, and explore work-study opportunities to earn money while attending school. I’ll also consider attending a community college for my first two years to save on tuition costs, then transfer to a four-year institution, which can significantly lower overall expenses. Additionally, I’ll be mindful of my spending, living frugally, and avoiding unnecessary expenses. Finally, I will work part-time throughout my studies to help cover living costs and tuition. By being financially responsible, planning ahead, and seeking out all available resources, I aim to minimize my student loan debt and avoid entering the workforce burdened by financial strain. Today we read an article talking about looking at college options in terms of the futur...

word that describes personality

The word "resilience" holds deep personal significance to me because it embodies my ability to overcome challenges and grow through adversity. I’ve faced moments of doubt, loss, and uncertainty, but each time, resilience has been my guiding force. It’s not about avoiding hardship, but about finding the strength to rise, adapt, and learn from difficult experiences. Whether dealing with burnout during my early career or personal loss, resilience has taught me that growth often comes from the toughest moments. This word reminds me that even in the face of struggle, I have the inner strength to move forward and rebuild. Today we did vocabulary assignment. I like the vocab that we do at the beginning of every week as I think it will be beneficial in the future

Tarrifs

when I shop, I do tend to check where products come from, especially when it comes to items that are important to me, like clothing or electronics. I’ve become more conscious of the impact that buying locally made products can have, both on the economy and on supporting fair labor practices. I would be willing to pay more for something made in the U.S. if I felt that the quality was higher and if I knew that the company was treating its workers fairly and maintaining sustainable practices. However, it would depend on the product itself and my budget. For instance, if the difference in price wasn’t significant and the quality was comparable, I’d definitely choose the American-made option. On the other hand, if the price difference was too steep and I felt the imported product offered the same value, I’d have to weigh it carefully. Ultimately, I think supporting local businesses is important, but practicality and affordability still play a big role in my decision-making process  toda...

falliure

prompt response: One significant failure that was necessary for my growth happened during my first attempt at a major exam in college. I had put in hours of studying, but I still didn’t perform as well as I expected. At first, I was crushed by the disappointment, feeling like all my hard work had been for nothing. However, looking back, that failure pushed me to reassess my study habits and my approach to managing stress. I realized I wasn’t using my time effectively and that I needed to focus on understanding the material deeply rather than just memorizing facts. I sought out additional resources, joined study groups, and developed better time management skills. That experience taught me resilience, how to handle setbacks, and the importance of learning from my mistakes. In the end, not only did I perform better in future exams, but I also grew more confident in my ability to overcome challenges. dreams

Prompt: response : One valuable lesson I can learn from my father about finances is the importance of budgeting and living within my means. He has always emphasized the need to track spending, prioritize savings, and avoid unnecessary debt. By carefully planning out expenses and setting aside money for both short-term needs and long-term goals, he has shown me how to manage money responsibly. His approach to finances is grounded in discipline and foresight, teaching me that financial security doesn't come from earning more, but from making wise decisions with what you have. This lesson helps me to approach money with a more thoughtful and strategic mindset, fostering financial stability and peace of mind. Reflection: today I class we talked about our dreams. Summary: this helped us actually plan achiving our dreams and how not to give up

words vocabulary

prompt :The term "macroscopic" refers to something that is large enough to be seen with the naked eye, as opposed to being microscopic, which requires a microscope to observe. It often describes objects, phenomena, or features that are visible without the need for specialized equipment. I first encountered the term in science classes, especially in biology and physics, where we would talk about macroscopic features of cells, organisms, or physical systems. Understanding the word "macroscopic" helps improve communication and writing skills by providing a precise way to describe things that are easily observable. It helps to clearly distinguish between what can be seen with the eye and what requires magnification, making descriptions more accurate and specific. Using the term effectively allows me to communicate complex ideas with clarity, especially in contexts where scale or perspective is important. which time do you prefer

prompt response prefer Standard Time the most. While Daylight Savings Time gives longer evenings, I find that the shift can throw off my routine and make it harder to adjust to the new schedule. Standard Time feels more natural to me, with earlier sunrises and a more consistent rhythm throughout the day. It also feels less rushed, especially in the winter when the days are shorter, and the cozy, slower pace of Standard Time seems to match the season. I enjoy the sense of balance it brings, and it makes me feel more in sync with the world around me. Summary: today was a virtual leaning day Reflection: the assignment was simple we just had to do a newsela article

the best cook in family

prompt: the best cook in my family is definitely my grandmother. She has this incredible ability to turn simple ingredients into the most delicious meals. One of my favorite dishes she’s made is her homemade lasagna. The layers of pasta are perfectly cooked, and the rich tomato sauce is bursting with flavor. She adds just the right amount of garlic, herbs, and ground beef, and the cheese—melted to perfection—binds it all together. When she serves it, there’s always a warm, comforting aroma that fills the house, and the first bite is always like a hug in food form. It’s a meal that brings everyone together and makes every family gathering feel special. Summary: today we continued our food poster Reflection: I finished my poster today

most disgusting food

Prompt:The most disgusting food I’ve ever had was a dish of fermented shark, which I tried while traveling in Iceland. It was part of a traditional tasting experience, and I decided to be adventurous. The shark had a strong, ammonia-like smell and an overpowering, fishy taste that lingered in my mouth long after I had swallowed it. The texture was tough and rubbery, which made it even harder to stomach. It wasn’t just the taste it was the whole experience of trying to push it down, knowing it was a delicacy but feeling like I was eating something that was far from fresh. It definitely wasn’t an experience I would repeat. Summary: today we started working on our food project.\ Reflection: the activity helps us recognize what cultures our foods represent

favorite word

Prompt Response: My favorite word right now is "ambiguous." I love how it captures the complexity of situations or ideas that aren't easily defined or understood, making it a perfect description for the gray areas of life. It feels like a word that opens up possibilities for interpretation and invites deeper thought. I find myself using it more often when talking about things that are open to multiple interpretations, whether it’s in conversations about politics, art, or even personal experiences. It’s such a versatile word, and it helps me express that sense of uncertainty or complexity in a situation.
