when I shop, I do tend to check where products come from, especially when it comes to items that are important to me, like clothing or electronics. I’ve become more conscious of the impact that buying locally made products can have, both on the economy and on supporting fair labor practices. I would be willing to pay more for something made in the U.S. if I felt that the quality was higher and if I knew that the company was treating its workers fairly and maintaining sustainable practices. However, it would depend on the product itself and my budget. For instance, if the difference in price wasn’t significant and the quality was comparable, I’d definitely choose the American-made option.
